Laval, Friday, January 28, 2022 – The Regroupement des Comités de Parents Autonomes du Québec (RCPAQ) wishes to express to the government its surprise concerning the appointment of the assistant deputy minister responsible for the English-language educational network.
While the government has generally accustomed the network with appointments that made it easy to recognize the contribution of the designated person to the English-speaking community in Quebec as well as his or her obvious knowledge of the public education network, we are unable to find these indicators in this appointment.
The parents are fully aware that the daily work associated with the deputy ministerial team is far from the field, but the parents want this work to be infused with all the necessary sensitivity towards the English-speaking community, its needs and concerns with regard to public education.
However, we wish to assure our support and all our collaboration, to the extent of our means, to the new Assistant Deputy Minister so that her mandate is favourable to the educational success of our children.
